Great tone is in your hands. That being said I am a gear freak. I often get asked what kind of gear I am using so here is a rundown of what I am using... for now.
My main guitar is my Michael Tuttle 60's Classic S. One piece alder body, thin nitro finish, Madagascar rosewood fingerboard, 9.5 inch radius, Tuttle Custom S pickups made by DiMarzio, 6105 frets, Callaham hardware. This is the finest Strat style guitar I have ever owned. I am clearly a huge fan of Michael's work, I can't speak highly enough of his guitars. I have finally found builder who makes guitars that sound and play the way I like them. If you are interested in a great guitar please give him a call. Careful, his stuff is addictive., I started with one, then two, then....
Michael Tuttle 60's Classic S. Same specs as the three tone above except this one has the Suhr silent pickup backplate and a maple neck.
Michael Tuttle 60's Classic T. One piece ash body, nitro finish, 6105 frets, Brazilian rosewood fingerboard, 9.5 inch radius, Lollar Firebird and '52 T series pickups.
Michael Tuttle Carve Top Deluxe. Mahogany back and neck, Eastern red leaf maple top, Madagascar fingerboard, 24.75 scale, Custom Tone Pros wrap around bridge, Tone Pros Kluson Tuners, DiMarzio 36 anniversary PAF'S, 6105 frets.

Gibson 1998 R8 Les Paul with DiMarzio 36th Anniversary PAF pickups.

1964 Gibson ES-345.

1934 National Doulian.
1931 National Tricone
