I have so many pedals and I keep on changing them out on a regular basis except a few that are constant in my board. Here is my NYC ready pedal board. Small, light, and airplane ready. I power this board with a One Spot. In countries with different voltage I will replace the T-Rex Replica with a different delay because it runs on 12v and the One Spot is 9v only.
Pedal order: Boss TU-2 tuner - Fulltone Customshop Deja-Vibe - Analogman King of Tone - Jetter Gain Stage Red - ZVEX Box of Rock - T-Rex Replica Delay all on a Pedaltrain Mini. Powered by a OneSpot.
Why 3 OD pedals you may ask? Well, it is rare that I get to crank an amp up to volume levels to where the amp distorts the way I want it to so I usually run the amp clean and set the Box of Rock like an amp, with a medium amount of gain. I will clean the amp up by using my volume knob. I find the BOR is the most amp like pedal that I have come across. I never leave home without it. Also on fly dates you never know what amp you may find when you get to the gig, you know what you asked for... I have found this combo cover many bases for me. So... For leads and legato stuff I can then boost the BOR with the KOT which has two separate boost functions which gives me some great options. I have the Jetter on there for that Dumble kind of sound and I find this pedal does a great take on the tone. I only use it with humbucker guitars because that's where it think it sounds best. Your mileage may vary...
I am a Uni-Vibe nut, it's my favorite swooshy effect, I try not to use it too much but it sucks me in. I put this right after the tuner because I prefer the sound of it before distortion. I have had my T-Rex Replica for years and still love it's warm analog like tones. Plus it has a tap tempo which I really like to have for all that Lanois/Edge/Gilmour stuff. My other favorite effect is the Octaiva which often makes it on the board, I have a Fulltone Octafuzz. Depending on the gig I will just place it before my pedal board.
My larger pedal board that never seems to leave my house if I can avoid it, it powered by a Pedal Power II +. I will also use a line buffer to address signal loss and long cables. But on the gigs I tend to be doing lately, this board does the trick.
More to come!
