Super Cool Pedal Alert - Pigtronix Aria Disnortion

I was at the NY Amp show and had a blast. I have known David Koltai the founder of Pigtronix for years and love stopping in his room to hang. This year as I plugged in to the Pigtronix setup I was floored by the Aria Disnortion pedal. Man this thing sounds great. It can get that Eric Johnson violin like sound which is great to find in a pedal. It also reacts well to my playing and is a whole lot of fun to play. A definite keeper. Here is video of me messing around with the pedal through a Fender Pro Junior. This is some of the tones the pedal can get but I was having too much fun ripping on it!

Here is a free download of one of my tunes called "That'd Be Great". It's from my steady gig at Oro here in NYC. We are there every Monday night. It's long so be patient, complete with drum solo! No over dubs, warts and all.

The band is Bill Malchow in keys and Hari Ganglberger on drums. It was recorded with a Sony Wav recorder so please forgive the mix. I liked the performance.

The guitar is may Michael Tuttle Carve Top Deluxe through a Bogner Mojado and the od is a Jeter GSR.

5 Not So Obvious Guitar Players Who I Love

Here are some clips from some of my less obvious favorite players in no particular order. I kept it to 5 because it's a cool number.

Daniel Lanois. Well know for being U2 and Peter Gabriel's producer among others. He is also one of the coolest players on the planet.

Buddy Miller. Besides being an amazing singer and songwriter, he is one of my favorite players. Just ask, Robert Plant, Allison Krauss, Patty Griffin, and Emmylou Harris.

Chris Whitley. I was fortunate enough to have known Chris and was deeply saddened by his death. A total bad- ass. Here is a clip from my favorite record of his. Din Of Ecstasy. A masterpiece.

Robert Smith and The Cure. I am not too sure who came up with all the cool sounds and approach but let's say Mr. Smith had the final call. Great sounds, arrangements, and moods. Too cool.

Syd Barrett. Pink Floyd's tragic founder. Although David Gilmour is one of my all time favorites, Syd's psychedelic stabbings always got me going. Still does.
